English Literature and Language, 11+

Born and raised in London, I grew up with a strong appreciation of literature which led me to choosing and achieving A grades in English Literature and Language at Sir George Monoux College. After the completion of my A Levels I elected to study Creative Writing and Journalism at Middlesex University for which I achieved a First Class Honours Degree. For nearly a decade I have been tutoring students both in English at KS2, 11+, GCSE and A Level, both in person and online. After several years working in the media industry as a copywriter and a journalist I have embarked on a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, of which will be completed by June 2024. I am currently working at Newham College, situated in East London as a teacher of English.

Teaching Experience

I have 9 years of teaching experience, starting with informal mentoring of younger year students whilst still a student myself, these experiences formed the basis of my educational career and solidified my love for my subject and for helping others learn. Since then I have taught every age group from Key Stage 2 right up to adult learners in differing English qualifications including, 11+, GCSE+ A Level. In my time teaching I have been fortunate enough to come across students from all walks of life, different socio-economic backgrounds and have taught in a variety of educational settings. These varied experiences have shaped me into the best educator I can be.
