Geography, 11+, 13+, GCSE, A Level

I have a range of teaching experience in leading independent schools in both London and Greater Manchester that has spanned 20 years. I have also successfully led three Geography departments at Lady Eleanor Holles, Bolton School for Boys and Ibstock Place School. I am an experienced AQA examiner at both GCSE and A level. My value added scores are consistently high as a classroom practitioner and in one to one tuition.

My interest in Geography grew out of a desire to want to understand how the world functioned on a physical and human level. I have always been fascinated by the growth of cities and population and the impact they are projected to have on the planet. It is this reason that I chose to study Geography at university gaining a BSc hons in 1999.   Subsequently, I decided that I would like to teach and completed my PGCE at Lancaster University in 2000 and have been teaching ever since. I have combined my teaching role with tutoring pupils at GCSE and A level for many years. My tutoring style is friendly and relaxed with a strong focus in building pupil confidence in knowledge and examination technique.
