The Entrance Assessment: Exact Format

The Royal Russell entry process consists of three core components:

• The Online Assessment: Unlike traditional paper tests, Royal Russell uses a bespoke online, adaptive test. This covers English (comprehension, grammar, spelling), Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Because it is adaptive, the questions become progressively harder as the student answers correctly.

• Creative Writing Paper: In addition to the online test, candidates complete a paper-based creative writing task to demonstrate their flair for language and structure.

• The Interview & Object of Interest: Shortlisted candidates are invited to an interview. Pupils are encouraged to bring a "piece of work or an object of interest" to act as a starting point for the discussion, allowing them to showcase their personality.
