Conquering the Paper-Based Exams

Hampton deliberately eschews standard digital tests, setting its own traditional, highly rigorous paper-based exams that last roughly two hours and five minutes total. The evaluation is divided into three comprehensive parts: a 40-minute English paper focused heavily on reading comprehension and descriptive creative writing based on a visual prompt; a 40-minute Word and Reasoning paper that tasks boys with extracting data from non-fiction sources like timetables or maps; and a rigorous Mathematics paper. Boys who demonstrate exceptional analytical skills are shortlisted for face-to-face interviews in January, where the school assesses their academic agility and alignment with Hampton's core values.
