The Caterham Admissions Roadmap

The selection journey spans the autumn and winter terms of Year 6 across three core components:

  • 1. The Candidate Interview (November): Before sitting written assessments, every applicant attends a friendly, 1-to-1 interview designed to let them share their hobbies, passions, and school life in a relaxed setting.

  • 2. The ISEB Common Pre-Test (Nov/Dec): Candidates complete the online, adaptive ISEB Pre-Test (English, Maths, Verbal, and Non-Verbal Reasoning) either at their primary school or at Caterham.

  • 3. The EDGE Experience Day (January): All candidates attend campus for the signature EDGE Day, consisting of a written Mathematics paper and the unique EDGE Paper.

What is the EDGE Paper?

The EDGE paper is specifically designed to bring out raw cognitive potential rather than rehearsed knowledge. It tests critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and written analysis, asking candidates to evaluate scenarios, defend arguments, and solve non-routine puzzles.
