Phase 1: ISEB Pre-Test & The Assessment Day

The ISEB Common Pre-Test: Candidates sit the online, adaptive ISEB test during the autumn term of Year 6. This establishes an age-standardised baseline across English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

The STAHS Assessment Day: Alongside the digital test, girls attend an active day on campus. This includes a handwritten creative writing task, a taster classroom lesson, and collaborative team activities, allowing staff to observe how candidates interact in a learning environment.
Phase 2: Group Interviews & Parent Conversations
Shortlisted candidates return in late January for a relaxed, small-group interview with senior members of staff.
Information for Parents: During the Stage 2 interview period, parents are invited for an informal conversation with the leadership team. STAHS emphasises that this meeting is purely informational and forms no part of the candidate’s assessment score.
