LUKE
MATHS, GCSE, A LEVELS
Biography:
I grew up in London and attended Epsom College, where I achieved A*s in Maths and Physics, and As in Further Maths and Computer Science at A Level. I went on to complete a BSc in Physics at Imperial College London from 2018 to 2021. I have been tutoring Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Computer Science up to A Level for seven years. From 2019 to 2024, I volunteered and later worked with the Rugby Portobello Trust, and from 2020 to 2024, I tutored with Grosvenor Tutors. In 2023-2024, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Mathematics at King’s College London, and I am currently teaching at William Perkin Church of England High School.
Teaching Experience:
I have over seven years of teaching experience, specialising in Maths and Further Maths. My teaching journey began with Year 6 classes at the Rugby Portobello Trust, a charity supporting pupils from low-socioeconomic backgrounds. Since then, I’ve provided bespoke A-Level Maths and Further Maths tutoring through Grosvenor Tutors and completed a four-month placement at St Paul’s School during my teacher training. I now have two years of classroom teaching experience, working with students from Year 7 to Year 13, including Further Maths. I also help organise and structure the Further Maths curriculum, streamlining content to improve pupil experience. I have taught both in-person and online, and am confident in adapting to the individual needs of each student.
Experience Highlights:
● KS5 Maths Advanced Programme Coordinator (promoted in my second year of teaching)
● 7+ years of A-Level Maths and Further Maths teaching
● Experience with AQA, Edexcel, Cambridge, and OCR exam boards
Interests:
I have played the clarinet and bass clarinet in various orchestras and sung in chamber choirs throughout my education. Outside of music, I enjoy swimming, running, and racket sports, as well as cooking and baking.
