English, Drama, 11+, GCSE, A Level, Mock Interview

Having gained A Levels in English Language and Literature, Theatre Studies and Stage Design, I left my home county of Derbyshire to study at Middlesex University in London, where I acquired a 2:1 (Honours) degree in Performing Arts. As a fully qualified teacher with an enhanced DBS, I have gained a wealth of experience as a drama specialist, firstly teaching at ArtsEd, Chiswick, (1996 - 2002) where I was Head of Creative Arts and also a member of the Senior Leadership Team. I then moved across to Ibstock Place School in Roehampton (2002 - 2017), where I was Head of a large Creative Arts Faculty, as well as Head of Drama.

Surprisingly, to most parents and to me initially when I began tutoring in English, the rudiments of reading comprehension required for 11+ are identical to the analytical skills required to interpret texts at GCSE and A level in Drama. I also assist with interview preparation and Mock interviews, having been part of the interview panel as Head of Faculty during my time at Ibstock Place School.
