Spanish Primary, GCSE

I am a Foreign Languages teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching Spanish, French and Latin at Secondary and Primary school level. I was born in France but I grew up in Spain in a bilingual region where education is in Spanish and Catalan. Therefore, I was fluent in three languages at the age of 5 or 6. When I attended an English course for the first time I was 9 years old, I realised I had a flair for languages. Since then, I have always been passionate about linguistics. I completed my A-level equivalent in Spain achieving some of the highest results in my region in Classical Greek and Latin. Following this, I went onto University to study linguistics, and after completing my PGCE, I started a PhD in Applied linguistics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Teaching Experience

I started teaching in the UK in 2003, first teaching adults and later as a Modern Foreign languages cover teacher in secondary schools. After a few long placements in and around London, I found a school with Language status where MFL were really valued. There, I started teaching French and Spanish. Before long, I was promoted to Head of Department. I introduced Latin for the fast track classes from Year 7 to Year 9; Spanish Literature in Year 11; early entry GCSE and early entry AS in Spanish and French for our Year 11 students.
