Maths, Mechanics, 11+, 13+, GCSE, A Level
After my Masters degree in Structural Engineering and Architecture, I moved to Manchester to work for an international engineering company. I then graduated with an ‘Outstanding’ in my PGCE from the University of Manchester before completing my NQT year in Harrogate. I took a year out to travel through India, South America and Spain before settling in Valencia.
There, I began teaching Mathematics at a British independent secondary school. Within one year, I was promoted to Deputy Head of Mathematics, which I held for two years. From there, I moved to Madrid to take up a role as Head of Mathematics at one of the most prestigious independent schools in Spain: I remain in this role today. I have taught all ages and abilities both in the classroom and in private tuition, from the fundamental mathematical concepts in Key Stage 2 to A Level Mathematics and even Spanish as a Second Language. I always encourage my students to understand the ‘why’ behind important concepts, as I believe it is essential to true understanding.
